The young adolescents with curious eyes, eager minds and a question for everything that comes their way take their first steps in experiencing art. First Touch is their opening into the multi-hued world of art. Here they learn a lot of interesting facts about the varied aspects of art, having oodles of fun letting their imagination come alive and creating masterpieces in well designed and facilitated workshop of 1 day.

Students lead a cocooned life amidst academics and limited sports/hobby opportunities. On hindsight, we as educators realize that young imaginative minds need to be left free to create wonders and the apt medium to do that is ‘creativity’ inspired by art. Each of us has experienced frustration. The frustration of being taught by someone who does not understand how we learn best is certainly one of the most challenging circumstances we face in a learning environment. Often, our sense of self is diminished as we struggle to grasp what others seem to absorb intuitively. Art, a discipline which does not require excellent verbal or writing skills to communicate with peers or teachers, can provide a safe place to experiment and express one's thoughts and talents, also save the uniqueness that each one of us are born with, as one learns new skills. One could go even further and argue that knowledge of the arts is an indispensable foundation for enlightened citizenship in our increasingly complicated world.

Art Education in UAS has so far been a package of over 30 art forms, to allow participants to taste a bit of everything on offer, before deciding what's to be the dessert one prefers. Now, we offer Spectrum – a service for someone who knows which art form he/she wants to pursue – either before or after their tryst with Young World forum. It is also our answer to the question “What next after YWF?”
